Guiding Lights to Host First Annual Share to Care Event
RALEIGH, N.C. - Guiding Lights Care Giver Support Center will host the first annual Share to Care event at the North Raleigh Hilton Saturday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. ABC11 anchor Frances Scott will emcee the event, and it will feature live music by local cover band The Party Nuts, a deejay, food, drinks and a silent auction to benefit Guiding Lights.
Guiding Lights assists family caregivers and care recipients who are living with one or more disabling, acute and/or chronic illnesses by helping them advocate for their caregiving needs. This initiative creates individualized care plans and connects families to appropriate service providers, with the goal of helping them obtain practical, affordable, applicable and loving support. Guiding Lights provides information, referral, education and support. The majority of services are made available to family caregivers at no charge.
“Being a family member or professional caring for someone who is sick or aging is an overwhelming task, and Guiding Lights offers resources and programs that can diminish the fear, doubt and stress many caregivers feel,” said Nicole Bruno, executive director of Guiding Lights. “We hope that this event will not only generate funds to support our programs, but also create awareness that caregivers are not alone,” she added.
Tickets are available and can be purchased online at sharetocareevent.com or by calling Guiding Lights at (919) 371-2062. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Cocktail attire is appropriate, and this event is for adults only.
The North Raleigh Hilton is located at 3415 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609.
